
Mindfulness Calligraphy Workshop

Calligraphy can be more than writing on paper—it can be a practice of presence. When paired with mindful breathing, each stroke becomes a way to connect mind, body, and spirit. This workshop introduces pointed-pen calligraphy as a mindful art, combining creativity with awareness.
Led by Aspacia Kusulas
This session will be led by Aspacia Kusulas, co-founder of KOUS Studio. Aspacia is known for bringing a modern touch to the timeless art of copperplate calligraphy, blending elegance with a contemporary approach that inspires both beginners and experienced writers.
What You’ll Experience
• Breathing exercises and warm-up strokes to settle and focus
• Introduction to calligraphy tools and how to use them
• Step-by-step practice of lowercase and uppercase alphabets
• Techniques for connecting letters and forming words
• Introduction to flourishing for creative expression
• Guided meditation and reflection
• Closing practice: creating your own mantra or intention card to carry home as a reminder of mindfulness and creativity

Each participant will receive a Starter Kit to keep:
• Worksheets and guidelines
• Practice paper
• 2 flexible nibs and 1 pen holder
• 1 bottle of iron gall ink
• 1 bottle of walnut ink
• 1 inkwell
• 1 palo santo stick
• 1 quartz crystal
• 1 candle
This five-hour workshop blends hands-on calligraphy with mindful practices, leaving each participant with both practical skills and a personal tool for daily reflection.
